Emergencies first
If water is flowing where it shouldn't, an alarm won't reset, or a system is out of service, call 780.760.0806. That number is our 24/7 emergency line. Don't fill in the form for an emergency, because a form waits for someone to read it and a phone doesn't.
If a sprinkler or alarm system is going to be shut down, planned or not, the fire code expects alternative measures while it's out. The emergency repair page explains what that means.
What to send with a quote request
We can give you a straight answer faster if the first message has the basics:
- The building address and what it's used for (warehouse, apartment building, clinic, shop).
- The size, roughly: floor area and number of storeys.
- Which systems are involved, or which ones you think are.
- Where you are in the process. Concept, permit application, under construction, or in service and due for inspection.
- Drawings, the last inspection reports, or a deficiency notice, if you have them.
- A date that matters, such as an occupancy deadline or a fire department follow-up.
For an inspection quote, the last report and the fire alarm panel make and model save the most time.
What happens after you write
Someone from our team reads every message and replies within 24 hours. Sometimes the reply is a question, because the answer depends on the occupancy or the drawings. Sometimes it's a site visit. If we can't help, we'll say so and, where we can, point you to someone who can. How we handle what you send is explained in our privacy policy.

Not sure who to ask?
If you're trying to understand a requirement before you call anyone, the Alberta fire code compliance guide and the FAQ cover the basics. If you already have a notice from the fire department, start with how deficiency notices are closed out.
