Aircraft hangars are among the most challenging environments for fire protection due to the massive fuel loads present in modern aircraft and the immense open volumes of the structures. Standard ceiling-only sprinklers are often insufficient to control a pool fire under a wing.
Sterling designs comprehensive suppression strategies that combine overhead deluge systems with ground-level high-expansion foam generators. This dual approach ensures rapid cooling of the roof structure while simultaneously blanketing the floor to smother fuel spills. We integrate optical flame detection (UV/IR) to trigger suppression in milliseconds, preventing catastrophic loss of high-value aviation assets.
